Black Rock City, Almost Gone

With endless thanks to my friend Brian (and his four-seat airplane), I had the amazing experience yesterday of seeing Nevada's Black Rock Desert from the air. Here are some photos I took of what remains less than a week after Burning Man's Black Rock City officially ceased to exist there, having disappeared again until next year. I was surprised to find the absence of the city so striking, its afterimage so intense.

Black Rock City: Towards Center

Black Rock City: Grid

Black Rock City: Bleeding

Black Rock City: From 2:00

Black Rock City: Center Camp

Black Rock City: From 11:00

Black Rock City: Access Road

Thanks for the cool photos. Are you allowed to land out there now?

Burning Man 2005 was fantastic, see you next year!
