Interview: Fireside chat with 37signals
The guys over at 37signals invited me to a little "Fireside Chat" with Khoi Vinh, design director over at the New York Times. Khoi and I have had remarkably similar experiences in our careers - founding small consulting companies, focusing on design of social media, and recently moving into large organizations.
Matt and Jason asked us lots of questions about doing design work at places like the Times and Google. In particular, they were interested in how much "real work" we still do, and how much time is spent in meetings.
The transcript of our chatroom interview is here.

The Fireside Chat was great. But I would have loved to know:
Google are derided for its unhelpful design. But they hired you and then Douglas Bowman. Sounds like there will be good changes coming, since the two of you are superstars enough to pull even Google into the light. Do you work with Mr. Bowman at all? Are there plans for a collaborative 20% project to come up with a unified design scheme?
great site with good look and information...i like it
I like your said, looking forward to more, lol
