Austin-bound
It's March, and that means conference season. I've been on the road for a while now, first at Search Engine Strategies (which was, um, different) and then at Emerging Technology (which was the same). I'm heading out again tomorrow -- this time for South by Southwest. Even though the traveling can be grueling this time of year, I always look forward to returning to Austin. It's a little like a class reunion, except imagine you liked everyone you went to high school with.
I'm moderating a panel this year on "Designing the Next Generation of Web Apps" this coming Tuesday at 11:30am. In it, I will attempt to avoid using the phrase "Web 2.0" (but I have little faith that I'll be able to). Joining meve are George Oates from Flickr, Mena Trott from SixApart, Eric Rodenbeck from Stamen Design, and Evan Williams from Odeo. Any questions you'd like to ask them? Leave a comment.
Also, Adaptive Path is having a party on Monday night, this time co-hosted with Odeo and Consumating. We'll be podcasting the latest user experience techniques for nerd dating. Or something. It will be fun.

Instead of calling it Web 2.0, try calling it something different, that will get people thinking about the actual meaning of what you say, instead of just a meaningless buzzword in the middle of some more meaningful information.
Personally I plan to start using a term like DWTs, short for Developing Web Technologies... Although doing a google search Dynamic Web Templates has stolen that :|
Ask them how much of a consideration web accessibility is getting in the design of future web applications.
Thanks man! Have fun in Austin. I wish I could be there.
Really enjoyed your panel. You're very tall in person.
Also enjoyed the panel, very much. When is the podcast going live?
I thoroughly enjoyed your panel, in part because you did such a good job moderating it. Would you consider writing up a set of tips on how to effectively moderate panels?
Simon,
I would, but Guy Kawasaki has done it for me:
What made SES "um different" this time around?
Mr Wave Theory thinks that there is a Bubble 2.0 for Web 2.0 and Most Analysts Are Overestimating the Size of Google's Total Addressable Market for Internet Advertising
I am sick and tired of hearing analysts make wild projections about Google's growth prospects based on wild projections about the size of Google's total addressable market.
