Measure Map sold to Google
Big news today: Measure Map has been acquired by Google, and we're down in Mountain View getting started on everything that is to come. There will be more to say in the coming weeks, but for now you can see my post on the Google Blog.

Congrats Veen. I think Google got the better end of the deal by getting you on the payroll. I'm curious though, as to how Measuremap and google's recently aquired Urchin will interact. A combination of features? Working together? I've only been beta testing measuremap for a few days now, and I love the interface. ..Lots of things I've always liked about urchin too as well.
As somebody splitting time between blogger and wordpress for different projects, I hope to log in to blogger someday and see some of those cool measuremap features on my blogger dashboard.
Then again, no telling what you guys will cook up.

Congratulations :)
Thats awesome! Congrats. I guess Google knows a good thing when they see it.
Congrats Veen. I look forward to seeing a cool integration with Blogger.
Congratulations, Jeff!
Wow! Adaptive Path's won't be the same without you. Good luck at Google.
Hot damn! Let's hope Google has bike jerseys in a size Tall.
Wow, what a win for Google. Congrats, Jeff!
Whoa, that rocks. But, but, ..., I used to show GA and MM as an entirely different ways of looking at the stats from the common analytic tools. What now, if they merge or something? :)
Holy crap!
I'm also wondering how GA and MM will work together (or not). More importantly, I'm really happy for you Jeff; this is amazing news. Congrats to you and Google, and condolences to the rest of the AP gang.
Congrats! I blogged about your email actually. I just love MeasureMap and I hope you keep on adding features. Maybe with Google, it runs faster with better uptime.
Cheers!
Dang! there goes my chance at getting a MeasureMaps cycling top, don't expect any of the Google hierachy are as cycling crazy as you.
Seriously, congratulations, the MM UI wipes the floor with GA UI. I only hope that Google either lets MM continue development independently or takes the MM UI and adjusts the GA backend to fit.
I can use both a MM and GA for my blog. MM I use on a daily basis, GA I am lucky to use once a month. So I hope Google accquired MM because it liked what it saw, not just to kill the competition.
On a personal level, I hope you have accquired sufficent financial recompense to be able take that cycling tour of France.
Jan Brasna: I doubt they'd merge. Google Analytics is a full scale stats program for professional use or a full fledged site. Measure Map is suited for smaller websites, such as blogs.
Jeff, that's great. I'm so proud of you guys.
Woohoo! We're glad to have you at Google.
Congrats Jeff!
I am very happy for you guys. Being acquired by Google was the right move. I only wish I could have invested in Measuremap last year when we met in D.C. Good luck and I look forward to catching up with you soon.
Congratulations!
Congrats. I know Google can definitely use some user-centered influence... hopefully your influence extends past the MeasureMap portion of the Googleplex.
Hot damn, Jeff. Congratulations.
Congratulations Jeff. Great work. Incredible.
I echo the above concerns regarding Google "consuming the competition", but at the same time, I don't think you would have moved to Google along with MM if you felt it was going to be another case of "crush, kill, destroy!" by the Big G.
What I look forward to most is the possibility of your attitude regarding open platforms infecting the Google monster. Today's(yesterday's) Yahoo Developer network realease is a perfect example -- Google obfusicate their javascript whilst Yahoo document and release theirs under a BSD license. As a web user, I prefer Google's services, but as a developer, Yahoo just rose to the top in my eyes.
Oh, I nearly forgot -- congratulations!!! :D
I hadn't even heard of this product before the acquisition, but it looks awesome and well-designed.
Congrats. Looking forward to reading about the Veenization of Google in a few months.
Cool, congrats on the new job!
Guess I'll just keep waiting for my MM invite to turn up... possibly in Gmail ;)
Would love to see blogger incorporate some stats - is that a potential outcome? Or too soon to say?
wait. you're leaving Adaptive Path?
Does this mean that Google will choose a more mature layout for their paid services? I mean, a stripped search is very useful, but their Video store could use some usability improvements for example.
Congratulations and good luck in your new job Jeff!
This is excellent news! I hope it will speed up the development process dramatically!
It would be nice if you could use the superior interface of Measure Map as a front end for the way too complicated interface of Google Analytics!
Well, congratulations Jeff (time for a shiny new bike?). It's going to be interesting seeing what Google do with Measure Map and, as other people say, how or if that has any effect on Google Analytics.
Also Adaptive Path's loss is Google's gain. At least I hope so - I look forward to seeing what you can do for them (and us). And I hope you can talk about some of it here - people tend to go a bit quiet when sucked into the Google machine. Good luck!
...although thinking about it, surely the most likely tie-in candidate for Measure Map is not Google Analytics but Blogger?
Sounds like great news for you - and hopefully for the rest of us as well. I'd love to know more about measuremap but can't seem to get an invite - will this be frozen for a while during the changeover or is there a way of getting an invite still?
Missed the fine print ie reading googleblog post in full and following that link. So you will be joining some other keen cyclist/s at Google.
I am hoping your gambit will extend beyond Measure Map to the UI of all Googledom.
Good luck
Congratulations on becoming part of the Google team Jeff.
So how much was the bounty on your head?
Congratulations! From what I saw of it at your BBC Digital Futures presentation, it was very impressive. Anyway, hopefully we can meet up when I get a chance to be in SF.
Cheers,
Adrian
Congratz Jeff, will measure map be a standalone thing or will it be comined with urch.. uhm Google Analytics? :) cheers m8!
Congratulations! That's pretty sweet getting bought up before you even launch to the public. I've still yet to see it.
Dear Jeffrey, Very exciting news! What a joy to watch your development and contributions at AP these past 5 years. Google is lucky to get you and your fabulous product.
It continues to be my great pleasure to consult on sales development with the growing AP team.
I am at this moment listening to Janice's Stanford speech, in which she generously praises your many talents (and what a fun surprise to hear her say, "WB taught me everything I know about negotiation").
Wishing you all the success you richly deserve, and with hopes we stay in touch,
With best regard,
Wanda
Hi Jeffrey,
I first heard about Measure Map on Janice's podcast from Stanford - congratulations on the Google partnership! Best of luck and much continued success!
cheers,
Jane
congrats jeffrey.
probably not the best day to ask a question seeing your mail and comments will be at all time highs...
why did you limit the product to blogs? most hosts do have analytic partnerships and there was a free google analytics out there but why didnt you ever pursue web sites? customer acquisition costs versus with blogs you knew you could partner with blogging platforms?
Great news Jeff! Congratulations!
I enjoyed your presentations at the Web Design World conference in San Francisco, and found immediate relevance within my current and prospective projects. I've also been enjoying the preview of Measure Map; glad to see Google has recognized your talent and expertise.
Looking forward to seeing what's in store for your & Measure Map's future.

Yay to you. Congrats!
congrats.
Hi Jeff,
Congratulations! Google have made a wise decision to get you on board. Hopefully Measure Map can get added into Urchin. :)
Hello Jeff, just wanted to send my congratulations to you. Hope this will be as good for you as it seems ;-)
Yeah, what Bryan said.
Well done jeff et. al.!
Jeff, what great news for you and for MM. I agree with some of the earlier sentiments that Google has made a smart investment in MM, but it's made an even smarter investment getting you on their team. I say that as a good friend who knows your solid character as well as a past client who has seen your professionalism in action. I'm looking forward to all of the new adventures you will experience with Google. Looking forward to the next time we get together with you and Les so we can hear all about it.
So, is this you or Greg?
Congratulations and best wishes!
Great news!, "Jeff, Omedeto, gannbattene!"
Congratulations and all the best to you.
Dear Jeff,
I recently relaunched my blog after patiently waiting to try out Measuremap for many months. Anyway, since I'm starting fresh, I wanted to see if there was anyway I could start things out right with the best statistics service around (from what I've heard). Is there any way I could get an invitation? Sorry for posting this to your comments, but I couldn't find a contact link.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Best wishes,
Frank Griggs
