What next? Atkins DVD player?
I've watched the low carb craze mostly from afar. Could be that I'm a regular (some say obsessive) cyclist and regularly include mountains of carbohydrates in my diet. Certainly the regime has benefitted many, including some great friends of mine. The radical change in diet certainly spurs immediate change in body image, and frequently a change towards a healthy way of living.
But honestly, the marketing frenzy around the low carb craze has gone from clever to annoying to absurd. Want an example? Chef's Catalog, purveyor of crap nobody needs, is offering a very special product for the Atkins crowd: the J.A.Henckels Professional "S" Low-Carb Cutlery Set.
I have no further comment.

It's hard to eat pasta with just a knife. This post is part of the Low Carb blogging system.
I prefer cycling over dieting too (though, to my knowledge, I haven't been called obsessive yet...I'll have to work on that).
Jeff, don't you know that if you cut something with carbs in it, and then use that same knife to cut a protein or fat, you could *transfer* deadly carbs to a non-carb item?! It's like kosher, you need two sets of everything!
I suspect the set lacks a breadknife.
now *that's* a meat knife! we obsessive-compulsive cyclists should eat more meat. bring on the gut bombs!
You guys should try being a cyclist AND a self-respecting Korean who consumes more rice per day than air.
Hehe. Perfect for my favorite high-protein, low-carb dieters... J.A.Henckels rocks!
Regards,
Nikole
