More Coachella rumors
Maybe this is the final line up. Rock!

And now on to my indie rock band infatuation of the moment, Film School. We've got ourselves some high quality indie noise rock here, ladies and gentlemen! Soaring guitars. Noisy, atmospheric instrumentation. Traces of Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, The Cure, Radiohead, Interpol, The Stills, ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Juno, and Experimental Aircraft, to name just a few that come to mind.
Don't take my word for it. Try this: put on a good set of headphones, crank the volume way up*, and queue up track number 10, "Like You Know", from their forthcoming self-titled release (due out officially on 26 Jan 2006). Listen to that wall of sound! Remarkable, isn't it? If you're still with me here, listen to track 2, "On & On". Did you hear those guitars explode onto the scene at 0:50? Seriously -- did you? And how about track 5, "Breet." Is it not The Cure? Just like tracks 6 and 7 sound like My Bloody Valentine?
Flavorpill SF describes them well: "Dream rock never sounded quite so, well, dreamy. San Francisco's own Film School, initially the solo project of Krayg Burton, now fleshed out with alumni of acts like Azusa Plane and Technicolor, crafts lush, opulent pop music soaked in bliss, kitted out with a sprinkle of Flying Saucer Attack, a touch of Nick Drake, and a twinge of the Byrds."
And yes, you read that right -- they're from San Francisco. That makes me happy.
So, see you at the record release party 1/26 at the Bottom of the Hill?
