Down for the count

YIP ~ Day 75We have had quite an eventful couple weeks around here. Sophia caught this insane bug going around her daycare that led to all manner of ear/eye infections, horrible-sounding coughing and then, inevitably, respiratory junk.

Chris and I were away all last weekend at a wedding (that he officiated!), and by the time we got back, Sophia’s minor sniffles and low fever had turned into serious yuck. So much so that she had to miss all the Easter festivities at church that she had been talking about for days. Thank goodness for doctors who have holiday hours and for a daddy who knows how to hold his daughter calmly as she wore a foreign-looking mask over her face for a treatment to help her breathe better.
YIP ~ Day 71
She’s been getting the rest she needed and is starting to bounce back. But of course, a toddler illness story wouldn’t be complete without a mama-getting-sick-too ending. So that’s where we’re at right now. I’m a little under the weather and Sophia’s getting her energy back — typical fun timing. I think I’ll just hang out for awhile under this comfy afghan eating leftover Easter candy!

I know the feeling Mommy! When I was prego, I got really sick the entire month of October. :( Being prego and sick is not fun at all. Hope you are feeling better soon. (and Sophia too. Did she have RSV or what?)

Sorry guys! That doesn’t sound fun at all. Sophia looks so little sitting on Chris’ lap. I hope you’re feeling better soon! Don’t feel one little bit guilty about eating leftover cake and candy. I am and I’m not even sick! :) On a totally different subject, I was looking at your pictures on Flicker and saw the comment about going more green…My friend (also named Lisa and fellow APU alum) has a link on her website with lots of info about cloth diapering if you’re interested. I’ve heard from several people that it is less scary then it sounds. http://www.dave-and-lisa.com/Site/cloth_diapering.html

What a bummer! Sounds like a memorable last few days! Glad to hear Sophie is feeling better and I hope you’re not far behind!
