Letting her hair down

YIP ~ Day 21

On daycare days, we never know how Sophia’s hair is going to look when we pick her up. Her caretakers are always putting clips and side ponytails in her hair in the afternoon to “pretty her up” for pick up time. Chris and I crack UP when we see her. Today was over the top–her headband was creasing down her bangs and when she pulled it off, the hair went everywhere and she proudly went all swinging-her-head-shampoo-commercial on us. Also? She’s rockin’ the same bangs I had in the late 80s. Rad.

Of course, it called for many photos and inclusion into mama’s Year of Pictures over at Flickr.

Like, omahgod, totally rad! Yeah, those bangs look painfully familiar to me, too. But she pulls them off because she’s so darn cute!

They used to fix Emily’s hair at her daycare too! I was never sure if they were just bored or thought she was neglected. (Christoph always got her ready and took her and you know he didn’t brush it). Sophia is looking awesome dude!

I just want to say that I proudly brush Sophia’s hair when I get her ready, and I think she looks pretty good. Right Amy? :)

The funniest part of all this was how when Amy said, “Smile” to take a picture, Sophia just closed her eyes and pulled a sweet Stevie Wonder, rocking back and forth swinging her head. I half expected her to start wailing, “Signed, sealed, delivered… I’m YOURS!!”

I don’t think I’ve ever met a cooler toddler than Sophia! Such a character - I love it!!!
