It hurts!

Vintage toddler “Ow, ow, ow!!”

This is what we hear from Sophia about a hundred times a day lately. She learned a new word recently that she knows yields results (thanks so much, daycare, for introducing my daughter to licensed-character band-aids), and it has become a staple in her daily vocabulary.

But before you call CPS on me and blame me for hurting my child, know that I get this response whenever Sophia doesn’t want me to do something. Picking her up to go change her diaper? “Ow!” Wiping her messy face from dinner? “Ow!” Turning off the TV for some active and creative playtime? “Owie, owie, owwwwieeeeee, mommy!”

Oy! The countdown to two years old is upon us (three more days!), but this type of behavior reminds me that the kiddo sure seems to have been settled into her twos for weeks (months?) already.

This should be a fun, interesting and challenging year for us all!

I suppose it can be painful to quit T.V. I know I cried when I had to leave Veronica Mars for the last time. :) You are doing such an awesome job with Sophia! I loved seeing you all on Monday. Knowing you, you’ll find all sorts of creative ways to parent a two-year-old. Just be sure to pass those tips on! XOXO
