Merry Christmas?
In the middle of the summer, Sophia reads books about snowmen, sings “We Wish You A Merry Christmas,” and pretends she’s Santa Clause in the bathtub. Maybe pretending it’s the cold wintertime when it’s 100+ degrees outside convinces her it’s not so hot. I think the kid might be on to something. Anything’s worth a try at this point. We’re melting in this crazy heat!
And on top of that, we decided to pick the hottest time of year to pack up all of our worldy possessions and move. Ultimately, the outcome will be great for our family (central air! room to move around without bumping into each other! dishwasher not named Amy!), but I’m seriously doubting our timing after loading up the car today on the surface of the sun. If ever there was a case for fall being the best season of all time, it would be the stifling month of August. Sorry–I think I’m still holding onto the resentment of this particular time of year from my haunting flashbacks of being 9 months pregnant. Not good times.
All will be settled soon in our lives (I keep telling myself that, anyway), and we’ll be back in no time with tales of life in a new city, sleep training in a new toddler bed and perhaps re-introducing Sophia to her long-lost friend, the potty.
OK, time to go pack the laptop. Merry Christmas from Sophia!

How did I miss this post? That is such a cute picture. It doesn’t even look like the other pix of her you’ve posted.
I sympathize with the move. Moving sucks. Where are you guys now?
