All wet! All wet! All wet!

Sprinkler joy!Sophia has taken to proclaiming her love for water all. the. time. Ever since we let her loose in the sprinklers last week, that’s all she talks about. At night before bed, she likes to remind us that tomorrow will be hot and the sun will be out, so maybe, just maybe it would be nice to cool ourselves off in the water. But instead of asking us sweetly about this proposition, she yells, “ALL WET! ALL WET! ALL WET!” at the top of her lungs.

“Yes, sweetie. I know it’s fun to get wet. Maybe tomorrow.”

Guardian of the hose

In the morning, as if she’d been dreaming of sprinkling water all night long, she’ll greet us with a syrupy-sweet, kiss-up smile and proclaim in the only decibel level toddlers seem to have (she goes to 11, by the way) that she would this instant like to be “ALL WET! ALL WET! ALL WET!”

What’s a mom to do but indulge her toddler sometimes? I can’t think of a cheaper thrill than an old sprinkler set to high on a hot almost-summer day! Just do NOT try to turn the water off and end the fun. Sophia guards that hose with her life.

I introduced my 9 month old to water this weekend in the form of the pool. It was a mysterious adventure, as he wanted to jump in the water, but when in the water, wanted to get out. I think the splashing in was the most fun for him :)
Great pictures!

Sarah - that’s so cute! The first time in the water is priceless! Sophia was exactly the same way. She couldn’t decide if she loved it or hated it the whole time.
