Party Crashers

Party crashers! Sophia is a very inquisitive kid. And by inquisitive I mean that she’s 19 months old. So basically, she’s normal — she’s into everything and wants to meet everyone.

Saturday, we were hanging out in the front yard of her friend Chloe’s house when the girls noticed some commotion next door. There were balloons! And a bouncy house! And hotdogs! And, more importantly, people having fun without them! Something had to be done.

The girls wandered over to the low wall to get a closer look. Right then and there a decision was made. I could see the wheels turning in those little toddler brains of theirs. “We’ll stand here looking cute and curious until someone notices us!” Sophia seemed to be saying to Chloe through various grunts and motions.

Well, those little schemers with their twinkly little eyes sure know what they’re doing (note to self: this will most definitely prove hazardous to my mental health in about 10-12 years). Not a minute later the party hostess noticed the cuteness happening on our side of the wall and invited the girls (and mommies) over to join in the fun. Goody bags were received (and subsequently hoarded), and I just laughed watching my daughter make herself right at home at a party where she knew no one besides her partner-in-crime Chloe. Party crashers, indeed. Way to go, girls! Now hand over some of that free candy.
