My little OCD artist
Today I got home early enough from work that Sophia and I could venture outside for a little sidewalk chalk fun. She’s quite the budding little artist. Added to that, she also really likes to get dirty (well, she is a toddler). So sidewalk chalkin’ is pretty much the perfect activity for her.
She’s also been having quite a blast lately with her crayons. Thing is, though, my daughter is a Virgo to the core. I’ve never paid much attention to astrology signs. But once Sophia was born, I started reading up to see what was in store (for fun, of course). Intelligent and self-sufficient, they said. I could handle that. But then I got to the part about analytical and orderly with a tendency towards perfectionism. And it made me totally laugh. Because yes, she loves to color and make “pretty pictures”, but mostly she spends her art time sorting through her crayons — emptying the box and putting them back in an orderly fashion over and over again.
I think she’s the perfect mix, though, of mommy’s anal perfectionism and daddy’s carefree artistic side!
