Soph and the City

Road trip! We headed up to San Francisco this weekend for a quick road trip. Chris had some meetings up in the area, so we decided to plan some extra time there to hang out with my brothers. Jeff and Greg both live in the city, and Chris and I used to get up there as often as we could pre-Loaf to get our fix of the foggy, cultural, urban, hipster extravaganza that is San Francisco.

But since Sophia came around, we haven’t ventured up there once. I don’t know if it was the long car ride holding us back or the tons of baggage you have to pack to go anywhere with a baby. Maybe it was just the thought of maneuvering around a packed and chaotic city with her that was the deal breaker. I know, I know - we live in L.A. But here everything is way more spread out, meaning you don’t have to walk everywhere with your squirmy toddler.
Bubbles with Uncle Jeff
I don’t know why we waited as long as we did to visit with Sophia. She absolutely loved it! From touring the theme-park adventure that is Google (three words: Google ball pit!), to trekking up windy city hills for some breakfast, to blowing bubbles with her uncle in his new garden, the experience was quite captivating and entertaining for our little thrill-seeker.
Hotels rule
Oh yeah, and hotels? Sophia thought she’d died and gone to heaven! Cable TV, big beds full of pillows, her very own remote. Toddler bliss. Hmm…mommy bliss, too, for that matter.

Hi Amy!
I am a TV producer in Los Angeles casting for a new reality show for the Style Network called “I Do Over.” The premise is redoing a couple’s wedding who’s first wedding was a total disaster. We hire the wedding planner and fulill all your wishes (within budget of course). I really fell in love with you and your family and read the post ;ast year “Celebrating 5″ where you mentioned you had a wedding full of nightmares. Please email me or call me if you and your husband would be interested in this opportunity. It’s a fun show and we are on a tight deadline-looking to start shooting the first week in April.

Hey- I see that you are famous! Wow- a reality show contact! You go girl! Ok, really, traveling just ain’t like it used to be is it? I am glad to hear that your hotel get-away went well- my kids never seem to sleep well in a hotel stay– too much to do, too many of us in one room. Hope your future travels go just as smoothly!
