Year in Review!

What a year it’s been! Chris and I were just telling Sophia as we tucked her in for the night that she was going to wake up in a whole new year tomorrow morning (Hmm…wishful thinking that it will actually be “the morning” when she wakes up? We’re in the middle of fun-filled nights of sleep training around here again.)

But yeah, it’s been a pretty amazing year for us. During this past year Sophia turned from a baby into a kid. Quite a transformation! Last year, she was just on the sidelines watching all the holiday fun. Check her out here “making cookies” (read: supervising and drooling) at Grandma’s house.

This year, she was an active participant in the fun and mess! And I am NOT kidding when I say active — everything has to be felt, tasted, banged on, shoved in a open orifice, picked up and run off with, or yammered at these days.Decorating cookies
2006 was an intense year — a year of full-time working and full-time mommying. We’ve had our share of struggles, but I am amazed by the way our little family sticks together. I am excited for this new year — a year that is full of many unknowns, both exciting and scary at the same time. But if I ever get anxious about what’s in store for us, I just need to look back on all we’ve accomplished in one short year and be reminded that 2007, only minutes away, is a blank slate waiting to be filled in with lots of new adventures.

On that note: Our 2006 Year in Review!
