Post Thanksgiving week wrap up
We had quite a week here, with Sophia waking up Monday morning sick and disgruntled. But despite not having much of an appetite that day, she seemed fine by evening. So when the husband came down with a case of the pukies a day and a half later, we were a little surprised. You can imagine my even greater surprise when I woke up Wednesday morning — a day I had taken off work for pre-holiday baking and lounging — to my own bout of nausea to rival that of even the worst case of morning sickness. We had much to be thankful for though, because by Thursday we were all fine and ready for some turkey and cheesecake.
We had a wonderfully calm holiday with a mesh of both my and Chris’ families together in one place, and an even calmer post holiday “black Friday.” No shopping for us — whew. Just some movie watching (in a movie theater! like regular adults!) with my husband and brothers, sans baby. Also, one quick side note: we saw Stranger Than Fiction. You’ve really gotta love a movie where half-way through someone walks out of the theater and yells “this movie sucks!” I really, really liked the movie. In fact, I think the moron yelling that made me like it even more. I say hurray for Will Farrell for taking a risk — for making a movie a little more indie and a little less SNL and expected.
Now we’re up at Big Bear squeezing out the last bit of relaxation we can from a very packed weekend. I know that December is going to be crazy, so I’m enjoying quiet moments with family while I can.
