Aloha!
We’re wrapping up our Hawaiian vacation today, and I thought I’d blog a quick post while everyone is napping. I should be napping, too, since we’re taking the red eye back to L.A. tonight, which never ceases to work me over. But I have too much energy right now — probably from all the relaxing. I’m refueled and ready to head back to the rat race. Well, maybe not ready, but at least more able to handle it.
We’ve had such a great time. It was fun to have so much family around for this vacation, too. Chris’ mom was here at the condo and his sister and our 4-year-old niece were around until last Tuesday. And then, there are the Fraziers that live here in Kauai that we get to see when we visit. Lots of Fraziers all on one little island!
But I think the best part of this vacation was experiencing so many new things through Sophia’s eyes. And we’re figuring out why people do this whole parenting thing. Everything was new to her, so it made it so much fun for us. First time on a plane, first time to the beach, first time in a pool, first time tasting ice cream, learning how to scale stairs — so many firsts that Chris and I had to struggle to keep up with her. Hopefully experiencing all these new things will have tired this energetic little girl out for at least five hours while we fly back home.
We didn’t do much in the way of touristy activities, but that’s not what we set out to do. What we did do was a whole lot of relaxing. Aloha, L.A. Here we come!
