Girl’s Life

Yesterday was my 29th birthday, (insert any number of “this is the first time you get to turn 29″ jokes here) and what a fabulous and contemplative day it was. Sometimes on my birthday, I look back on the previous year of my life and wonder where the time went and what things I have accomplished.

This year, I looked back and got a little overwhelmed thinking about all that’s happened. A pregnancy and a new baby. Freaky surgery scare. Learning how to be a parent. Learning how to be a working mom. Learning how to be a wife in a whole new way. Learning, learning, learning.

Whew! With all that, I haven’t even mentioned all the quiet moments with my sweet daughter or the very animated way she brings joy to our home. And the new way I’ve gotten to know my husband — watching him develop into such a caring and loving father.

This has been an exceptional year. One I can definitely look back on with peace. And as I finish off the last year of my twenties, I can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
