This, too, shall pass…

Teething is so hard, daddy.Just a quick update for tonight. Sophia is still teething. And let me tell you — there is drama, kids. DRAMA! Those suckers just don’t want to come through. And that’s just pissing her off. It’s pissing me off, too. COME OUT, TEETH! Geez — give a kid a break already!

She’s not been herself all week. Not wanting to eat and being just generally fussy. There is one bright side to all this though. She is oh-so-cuddly. Even if it’s a cuddly stemming from resigning herself to her horrible fate. I’ll take it. It’s still sweet when she nuzzles all up into my neck, no matter what the reason.

We’re also trying to get her back on that glorious sleep schedule she was on what seemed like decades ago. When I went back to work, Sophia sort of regressed in her sleeping habits. And being the guilt-ridden mother that I have become, I just brought her to bed with me every time she cried during the night. That’s all well and good, but now I have an almost-6-month-old baby who refuses to sleep in her crib for a whole night. Let the un-training begin.

Oh, and we started her on veggies this week, and they don’t seem to be sitting well with her.

Needless to say, we’ve seen better days in the Frazier house. Here’s hoping for a better week.

[…] OK, so maybe I’m in denial that my 10-month-old still doesn’t have any teeth. Yes, that’s right — I went and bought her a toothbrush. I figured if she had a really cute toothbrush in her mouth rubbing against her gums, maybe those teeth will realize it’s time to come out and get themselves a little massage. Yeah, it’s dumb. But the brush is cute, so whatever. Despite the lack of teeth though, Sophia really likes the toothbrush. And honestly, I am in no hurry at all for those things to come in, being that I’m still nursing and all. I’ve heard too many stories of biter babies. But seriously, we already went through all this teething business (or at least we thought that’s what it was) at 6 months — the fussiness, the nursing strike, the drooling and chewing on everthing, the slight fever and just plain DRAMA! What the heck? What was that then? Do we really have to go through that sometime soon for the real thing? (Actually, I don’t know how soon it will really be because we feel NOTHING in there.) […]
