Winter Wonderland

Amy, Chris and Marshmellow Peep

We went up to the snow last weekend for a few days of freezing fun. Our church has a camp in the Sequoias called Quaker Meadow, one of the most beautiful mountain locations in California. Chris and I hadn’t been there since we were summer camp counselors together a few years ago, so we decided it was perfect timing to head back.

Of course, it being Sophia’s first trip to the snow, and me being a Southern California girl at heart, I had no idea how to dress a baby for cold weather and ended up with two huge bags of clothes to dress one baby for the three days we were there (which, I might add, she wore almost all of!)

Bunny Bjorn

My favorites, of course, were the marshmellow peep outfit above and her snow bunny hat. I just can’t help but think about the little brother in the movie “A Christmas Story” and feel a little bad for the girl. But just a little.

It’s really too bad Sophia doesn’t snowboard because it’s a shame to only get to wear all that pink cuteness once. When we got back home, the temperature was in the 70s again, so the cold-weather gear’s been packed away.

Quaker Meadow Snow Camp! We really did have a ton of snow though. And I’m not just exaggerating because I’m never around it. We had to dig our cars out of the parking area after two days of falling snow. Good thing we have snow chains. Oh, and drive a Jeep. I can’t imagine living in that all winter!
