Merry Christmas!

A little Who from Whoville

Merry Christmas from Girl’s Life!! We had a great first Christmas as a new family. There was so much for Sophia to look at and put in her mouth. What could be better?

Uncle Santa

My Uncle Bob came down from Northern California to visit us for Christmas. It was perfect timing because Sophia hadn’t yet had a chance to tell Santa Clause what she wanted for Christmas. Uncle Bob was the perfect substitute!

This Christmas I discovered that holidays with babies are way more fun. Chris and I had a blast viewing everything with the eyes of a child. I’m sure it will only get better as Sophia actually starts realizing what’s going on.

Some highlights from Christmas Eve with my family:

Chocolate Fountain!!

My mom was in charge of dessert for Christmas Eve and was the hero of the night with the now famous chocolate fountain! It was hilarious to watch my nephews’ eyes get huge with delight when it was unveiled.

I feel pretty

My mom came across a “Grandma Dress” for Sophia at a consignment shop. She couldn’t resist not only getting it for her, but slyly changing her into it when I left the room for a moment. We had to snap some shots so people could see that these dresses do really exist! Luckily, I was able to save Sophia from the dress shortly after this photo was taken.

A better use for all that material

But no one was able to save my mom from it! Chris decided my mom deserved to wear the dress, too, as she was the one who so proudly purchased it!

Uncle Bob and Dad try out the teeter totter!

To top the night of hilarity off, all the men in my family spent the next hour putting together a teeter totter from Santa for my nephews while they slept. No one could stop laughing when my dad and Uncle Bob decided to test it out for the boys first!

Not a creature was stirring...

All this fun sure can wear a girl out! That’s it for this year. Enjoy the end of 2005 and check back with us in the new year!
