Christmas traditions
My mom and I have a fun holiday tradition of baking Christmas cookies every year. This year, we were even more excited because it was Sophia’s first Christmas to tag along.
Sophia did a great job of supervising the festivities from the comfort of her baby seat. That is, until she found the chocolate! That girl is just like her mom.
Normally, we just stick with the tried and true sugar cookies, varying the recipe each year in search of the best cookie. (By the way, I think we might have actually found it this year!) But my mom came across a recipe for pinwheels that sounded too cute to pass up. Unfortunately, the recipe was quite deceiving (read: it sucked) and they turned out fit for only the trashcan! Check out this mess.
But in the end, it all turned out well. And we had many cute and festive cookies to show for our day of labor.
Note: My naughty, sugar-loving dog finished off the remainder of the cookies while Chris and I were out at dinner that night. Fortunately, we got to enjoy a few before then.

Sooooo cute with the chocolate chips! A girl after my own heart.
